The Five Most Common Tajwid Mistakes

From shortened madd to missing ghunnah — and how to practise them at home.
After nine years of teaching tahsin, these are the five mistakes I meet most often:
1. Madd thabi'i cut short when rushing.
2. Ghunnah not held for two counts.
3. Qalqalah letters read flat.
4. The makhraj of 'ain and hamzah swapped.
5. Tafkhim and tarqiq of ra applied inconsistently.
The most effective practice: record your own recitation, compare it with a murattal, repeat verse by verse. Little but consistent.
