Learning Arabic: Start with 100 Qur'anic Words
Artikel oleh Ust. Ridwan Hakim · 13 Juli 2026
Roughly half the words in the Qur'an come from about 100 shared roots — start there.
Good news for beginners: you don't need to memorise the whole dictionary.
Vocabulary studies show about half the words of the Qur'an recur from ±100 root words. The strategy:
1. Memorise 10 words a week together with an example verse.
2. Mark those words every time they appear in your daily reading.
3. After 10 weeks, open the mushaf — you'll be surprised how much you recognise.
Arabic is the key; pick it up gently.
